What are the Friends of the Library?
Friends of the Library is a non-profit organization that assists the library working closely with the professional
library staff to support their needs.
Who are the Friends of the Library?
- People who have an interest in the activities and goals of the area's libraries.
- People who value the resources and services of the local libraries and who regard them as necessary
institutions for the development of the community.
- People who provide a way for individuals to contribute to the library
What do Friends of the Library do?
- The Friends bring together an enthusiastic group of people dedicated to furthering the purposes of the libraries.
- The Friends assist in developing and promoting an understanding of the library's goals and purposes in the community.
What are the benefits of being a Friend?
- Invitations to programs and events planned or sponsored by the Friends such as the Annual Spring Yard Sale,
Summerfest Book Sale, and author visits throughtout the year.
- The personal satisfaction of making a valuable contribution to the community as a Friend of the Library.
How do I become a Friend?
Just phone or drop in at the New Liskeard Branch Library at 647-4215 or Haileybury Branch Library at 672-3707.
The Friends of the Library meet:
- New Liskeard - 2nd Wednesday of each month
- Haileybury - 3rd Wednesday of each month
New members are most welcome!
